Sadaqah (voluntary charity) is a virtuous deed in Islam. In fact, it is considered as a proof of one’s eeman (faith). The more we give sadaqah the more we increase our eeman and thus, expect Allah’s rewards both in this world and in the life hereafter. Giving charity out of our wealth does not decrease our wealth but instead Allah (s.w.t.) increases it.

Vaccine Information and Appointments

Appointments Required

Eastern Twin Cities Islamic Center (ETCIC) is pleased to announce that it will be offering COVID vaccination at its Afton Islamic Center located at 12585 Hudson Rd S Afton, MN 55001 on Tue April 13th from 9 AM to noon in collaboration with Muslim American Society (MAS) and MN Dept of Health (MDH). A&E Pharmacy in Minneapolis will be administering the vaccination and the single shot J&J Vaccine will be administered.

Vaccination is open to everyone 18+ irrespective of their faith or religious beliefs.

Registration for vaccine can be done by clicking here. Please read the form carefully. The promo code mentioned at the top of the form is a field later on in the form to select the time for vaccination.

As doses are limited, we encourage you to register yourself and your immediate family members as soon as possible. And please register ONLY if you are certain that you will be coming for vaccination to ensure everyone benefits from it as the vaccines need to be used up once opened.

Ramadan 1445

Ramadan Mubarak (“May Allah give you a blessed Ramadan”).

According to the Fiqh Council on North America (FCNA):

1st of Ramadan will be on Monday, March 11th, 2024
(Taraweeh Prayer will start on Sunday night March 10th)

1st of Shawwal (Eid Al-Fitr) will be on Wednesday, April 10th, 2024

“اللهم بارك لنا في الأيام المتبقية من شهر شعبان، وبلغنا شهر رمضان هذا العام وأعواماً مديدة، وارزقنا صيامه إيماناً واحتساباً، ولا تحرمنا فضله، واجْعَل لنا نَصيباً مِنْ كُلِّ خَيْرٍ تُنْزِلُ فيهِ.

O Allah, bless us in the remaining days of the month of Shaaban, make us reach the month of Ramadan this year and many years to come, grant us to fast in it for Your sake and anticipation of Your rewards, do not deprive us of its bounty, and grant us a share of every good that You send in it.

Iftar, Ishaa and Taraweeh Prayers

Iftars will be held at the Masjid every Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Iftars are offered and sponsored by members of the community. If you like to sponsor an Iftar, please, contact Br. Waseem Khan at 651-263-5531 or wkhan675@yahoo.com.
The ETCIC will offer Ishaa and Taraweeh Prayers at the Masjid.

Iqama for Ishaa Prayer 10 minutes after time of Ishaa.
Taraweeh Prayer starts 20 minutes after time of Ishaa.

Jum’ah / Friday Prayer Guidelines

The ETCIC has relaxed most of its COVID-19 rules:

Starting Friday November 5th, 2021, only one Jumah session is offered:

Khutbah: 1:15 pm – 1:35 pm
Salat: 1:35 pm – 1:45 pm

• These times will remain in effect after the end of daylight saving time.
• No registration is required.
• Wearing a facemask is required.
• We will be offering both socially distanced as well as NO socially distanced prayer rows. Community members can then choose between the two options based on their comfort level.

We strongly request that if you are sick or anyone in your household is sick, please avoid coming to the masjid even if your symptoms are not typical of COVID-19.

These rules will be evaluated and subject to change based on changes in COVID-19 cases.

Those coming to the Masjid understand and agree that they are coming to the Masjid at their own risk and the ETCIC, its Board or any of the volunteers cannot be held responsible for any issues including any health issues that may result to anyone directly or indirectly based upon reopening of the Masjid.

Eid-ul-Adha Prayer times

In shaa Allah, Eid-ul-Adha 1443/2022 will be on Saturday, July 9, 2022.

The day of Arafah will be on Friday, July 8.

The Eid Prayer will be held at the ETCIC, 12585 Hudson Road S., Afton, MN 55001: Please see road closure and alternate route information below:

There will be three sessions:

Session 1:    Takbeerat starts at 6:45 am
                     Salat starts at 7:00 am
                     Khutbah ends at 7:30 am

Session 2:    Takbeerat starts at 8:15 am
                     Salat starts at 8:30 am
                     Khutbah ends at      9:00 am

Session 3:    Takbeerat starts at 9:45 am
                     Salat starts at 10:00 am
                     Khutbah ends at 10:30 am

Prayers will be held outside under tents. There will be both socially distanced as well as NO socially distanced prayer rows. Community members can then choose between the two options based on their comfort level.

Please, bring your own Prayer mat.
